SHOCHU

Shochu is a distilled spirit made in Japan. It is produced by fermenting a variety of ingredients such as rice, barley, and sweet potatoes, and then distilling them. Shochu production is centered in southern Kyushu and is believed to date back to the 16th century.

Kouzou Shuzo Brewery is located in Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture —a region embraced by nature. Founded in 1919, our brewery has over a century of tradition.
With the heartfelt wish to bring more happiness, we continue crafting shochu, taking time and care with every step. We use kametsubo — traditional-style clay pots — to gently support fermentation and deepen flavor. Each bottle is made with sincerity though we may not produce in large quantities.
We hope our shochu brings warmth and comfort to your daily life.
Please enjoy a special moment — with our shochu.
